CrewLounge to support Mercy Air
Helping the NGO with the digitization of its aviation services

CrewLounge AERO supports Mercy Air in their goal to modernize the NGO’s flight operations administration.

Mercy Air

Mercy Air is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in South Africa. The NGO provides aviation services to other humanitarian and mission organizations. From its base in White River, Mercy Air operates into South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini and Lesotho.

“We plan to streamline our administration and bring the organization into the era of paperless cockpit,” says David Schumacher, the NGO’s IT manager.  David graduated as A320 pilot from Lufthansa Aviation Training and recently joined Mercy Air. “I’m very grateful that CrewLounge is helping us in our process of digitization.”

Mercy Air will initially start with the CrewLounge PILOTLOG (logbook) and CrewLounge DOCS (document management) modules. “This is a first important step forward, from literally a whiteboard to a state of the art software tool,” states David. “We look forward to also implementing CrewLounge CLUB as soon as this module becomes available. It would help us manage our fleet, maintenance and pilot planning.”

“When Mercy Air asked us to help their organization digitize its flight operations, we didn’t hesitate for a second,” says Pat Boone, general manager at CrewLounge. “We are very pleased to contribute to the noble mission of this non-profit organization.”

Organizations that donate to Mercy Air include The ISTAT Foundation, Wings of Hope, Airbus Helicopters and now CrewLounge AERO.
