The year of the Ox
CrewLounge AERO operates from 3 locations. Company and project management are centralized in Europe. App development and customer support are located in Asia, with offices in the Philippines and Vietnam. On February 12th, the Hanoi division celebrated Lunar New Year.
2021 is the year of the Ox. The Ox is the second animal of the zodiac and stands for diligence, dependability, strength and determination. The metal Ox (2021) faces obstacles early on, but gains recognition through hard work. And that is exactly what we stand for, here at CrewLounge AERO. A team of 30 young and dynamic employees works seven-days-a-week to support tens of thousands of pilots and cabin crew. While 2020 was a rough year for everyone, our team actually had two difficult years:
The launch of our new platform CREWLOUNGE AERO made 2019 very challenging. A number of teething problems in the software and the new pricing were perceived with dissatisfaction on numerous social media and chat platforms. Partly right, certainly understandable, but sometimes also the fear of the human for a new and unknown project.
We doubled the number of support agents on the help desk in order to answer all tens of thousands of emails in person. Development and Quality Control increased forces to restore stability and quality in the new software. A number of customers have dropped out, but most have given us credit and are very satisfied with the new apps today. I take this opportunity to thank all customers for their loyalty!
Early 2020, after months of hard work, we reached again our top level that we had achieved over the past decade. And then came the corona pandemic… 2020 unexpectedly turned into another nightmare. Tens of thousands of pilots and cabin crew have lost their job temporarily or permanently. This massive job loss also reflects in our revenues. The number of active customers dropped substantially in 2020, putting heavy financial pressure on our company.
Fortunately, with great joy and some pride, we do see a continuous increase in the total number of crew members who register with CrewLounge AERO, every day again. Despite the enormous economic havoc this pandemic has caused to aviation, we envision emerging stronger.
The year of the Ox does indeed start with hurdles, but our team continues to work hard. We believe in and we look forward to a recovery in aviation. We are determined to provide you, our loyal customers, with the best service and support. Thank you for being with us on this journey!
